Beyond Sacred Voices of Muslims Identity interview based theater production by Ping Chong + Company
Beyond Sacred: Voices of Muslim Identity. Beyond Sacred, originally commissioned by LPAC, explores the diverse experiences of Muslims in the U.S. The five young participants vary in many ways, but share the common experience of coming of age in a post-9/11 New York City, in a time of rising Islamophobia. Beyond Sacred uses the arts to increase community dialogue around difference and fosters greater understanding among Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
LPAC is able to produce the 2014-15 Beyond Sacred season with the generous support of APAP and the Doris Duke Foundation Building Bridges Grant.
