NYFAF 2023
We are back!
NYFAF's 8th Edition will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023 (in-person).
The 8th edition of the New York Forum of Amazigh Film (FYFAF) returns to LPAC this spring! Showcasing documentaries, films shorts in the genres of realism and sci-fi, as well as a feature film all exploring the theme: Facing the Unexpected. Encompassing a myriad of languages, ethnicities, religions, cultural practices and artistic expressions, NYFAF is an amazing global learning opportunity for the college and surrounding community.
As in past editions, NYFAF approaches each film session as a Global Learning opportunity, offering a structured space for students to practice “communicating across difference.” Each film is contextualized and followed by a Q&A. The Q&As will be live-streamed on NYFAF's Facebook page.
NYFAF provides low-stakes assignment materials including one dedicated to the virtual program “Androman.” Please contact Habiba Boumlik if you wish to have the assignment beforehand to include in your classwork at: hboumlik@lagcc.cuny.edu.

Please note that this FREE event in the LITTLE THEATRE is a day-long event starting at 10:30 am and
open to all. The only RSVP needed is for the evening film “Sound of Berberia” at 5:30 pm.
During the COVID -19 pandemic, NYFAF organized three successful virtual screenings and expanded its audience worldwide. Following the success of the virtual events, NYFAF will offer a free screening of the films "Tamorthiw" and "Androman" from April 25-May 2 and organize a virtual discussion on these films with invited experts on Tuesday, May 2 @ 9:30 AM EST (virtual).
