Calpulli Adults 50+ Dance Workshop - Final Presentation

Event Description 

Join Calpulli Mexican Dance Company starting on April 7, 2026 for a 6-week dance program. Classes will be held Tuesdays at 2:30pm.
All levels welcome!

This six-week workshop series - led by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company in partnership with Sunnyside Community Center - concludes with a special final presentation, as part of the Calpulli Community Year-End Recital, featuring the vibrant seniors of Sunnyside, showcasing the skills, stories, and traditions they’ve embraced through Mexican folkloric dance.

Rooted in LPAC’s mission to engage historically underrepresented communities, this workshop series honors older adults who are often overlooked in arts programming by creating a joyful space for movement, connection, and cultural expression. Through Calpulli’s expert guidance, participants explored traditional Mexican dance forms, building confidence, community, and a deeper understanding of heritage.

The final performance is not only a celebration of their journey but also a reflection of LPAC’s commitment to preserving cultural traditions while fostering inclusivity and intergenerational connection.
