Meet The Author at LPAC
Event Description
Stories leap off the page at LPAC this fall.
What happens when the person who wrote the book is right there in the room?
This fall, Meet the Author at LPAC turns three favorite children’s books into lively Saturday experiences filled with stories, performances, music, movement, creative activities, and plenty of chances for kids to jump in.
Families will meet the authors behind the books, hear their stories brought to life, ask questions, make discoveries, and spend the morning playing in the worlds those authors created.
And every child leaves with a free copy of the featured book to take home.
Each Saturday offers something completely different. Sonia De Los Santos brings La Golondrina to life through bilingual storytelling and music. Susan Verde explores belonging, connection, and community through I Am We. And Queens author Amy Shoenthal turns a familiar neighborhood into an adventure in A Magical Day in Sunnyside.
These aren’t sit-still-and-listen author talks. They’re mornings designed for kids to move, laugh, participate, ask questions, get creative, and experience a book in a whole new way.
Come meet an author. See a story come alive. Take the book home and keep the adventure going.
Three Saturdays. Three authors. Three free books. A whole lot of imagination.
