
Master Class with Limón Dance Company
Event Description
Join us on Wednesday, October 8th for a Master Class with Limón Lab’s Artistic Director Dante Puleio.
This dance workshop is free but please RSVP, space is limited.
Limón Technique:
An investigation of how 20th century modern dance movement vocabulary and principles from the Humphrey/Limón perspective can be accessible for the 21st century artist

Discover weight and momentum with safety and efficiency while embodying dance history

Focus on breath and the pelvis as a connection to deepening the understanding of fall/recovery and suspension/opposition

Fly through and cover space with rhythmic phrasework experimenting with control, release, speed, accuracy and performance

Move through transitions and fine tune the athleticism and artistry needed for the 21st century performer
Limón Repertory:
An opportunity to walk in the steps of the founders of modern dance.

Deconstructing Limón's phrasework, examining what he created, why he created it, what it meant at the time and how it resonates today.

Harvesting that material, we will find our personal connection to the intention of the work to find agency and bring the individual’s voice to well known and celebrated works.
